Nuclear Medicine
The Nuclear Medicine department gathers anatomical, biological, and functional information for diagnosis and treatment, using radioactive tracers.
Nuclear medicine plays a key role in early diagnosis, treatment method determination and final treatment of a range of cancers via varied inspections using PET/CT, the key modern radiology equipment. The department carried out treatment and studies using a SPECT Gamma Camera and other high-tech bone scanning equipment to check bone metastasis for cancer and treatment evaluation, kidneys, Hepatobiliary and thyroid issues and uses a SPECT/CT Gamma Camera for brain and cardiac disorders.
Thyroid cancer and (hyperthyroidism) treatment with I-131 is implemented for treatment using radioimmunoassay (RIA).
